Busy weeknights call for a satisfying, hearty meal that doesn’t take hours to prepare. In just 35 minutes, you can have a delicious low carb turkey chili on the table. This recipe uses simple ingredients like ground turkey and fire-roasted tomatoes to create a flavorful, family-friendly meal that’s great for anyone following a keto or low carb lifestyle.

What You Will Need:

  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 pound of ground turkey
  • 1-28 ounce can of fire roasted tomatoes with juices

Making the Chili

This is a very quick and simple recipe. To get the chili started, dice the medium onion into 1/2 inch or so pieces. Add the olive oil to the skillet that you are using. When the olive oil is heated, add the onions, sea salt, black pepper, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, and chili powder. Stir the onions and spices so they get to know each other. Cook the onions until they start to get soft but not too much so they start to brown. The dicing and cooking will take around 15 minutes. Next add the ground turkey and combine with the onion mixture. Cook the turkey until it is about done. Now add the can (or cans) of fire roasted tomatoes. Combine and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Add sea salt and pepper to taste. We usually double or triple the recipes so we have more for lunches during the week.

Options for Serving

There are many options for serving the chili and still keep it low carb. My wife and I like to add cheese and sour cream to our chili. This chili recipe is not spicy so adding some hot sauce and green onions may be up your alley. We also like to serve it over a bed of cooked spaghetti squash like in the picture above.

This is just one of the great dinners I have on my site. Try out some more!

I also have some other low carb dinners on my site. Try the unstuffed cabbage, Italian spaghetti squash bake, or the low carb alfredo sauce!
