I was looking to cut back on carbs but wanted a great tasting bread. This easy almond flour bread recipe does both! It was important that the bread be able to be used for recipes like garlic bread, sandwich bread, etc. I have been very pleased with the basic uses of this almond flour bread recipe. The recipe is quick and easy to make plus it’s a gluten-free recipe! I usually whip a batch up when I get home from work and it is ready for dinner!

Almond flour bread vs all-purpose flour bread

Almond flour is made from finely ground, blanched almonds. Unlike all-purpose flour and other milled flours, almond flour is grain-free, gluten-free, and low in carbohydrates. All-purpose flour is rich in grains, carbohydrates, and gluten. You will not be able to make a crusty sourdough bread with almond flour but you will get a nice loaf of bread.

Mixing the ingredients

Make sure your oven is heated and the loaf pan is prepared before mixing the ingredients. All the ingredients go right into a mixing bowl but I save the vinegar for last. I save it for last to shorten the time as much as possible from mixing to placing the loaf pan in the oven. Most of the rise of the loaf will come from the baking soda reacting with the vinegar. There is no yeast or baking powder in this recipe so the only way the bread will get some height is from the baking soda and vinegar.

Once the ingredients are mixed, pour it right into the loaf pan and pop it into the oven. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees F or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

Uses for the almond flour bread

My favorite way to use the almond flour bread is garlic bread! Personally I do not like to eat garlic bread with dinner because it can be so filling. The almond bread is not as filling. I have sliced the bread thin, toasted it in the oven, and broke it up to use as a panko type bread crumbs too!

You can make garlic bread and spread the basil pistachio pesto on top!
