Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • 4 tablespoons of all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon of crushed black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon of onion powder
  • 2 cups of warm whole milk
  • ½ cup of sour cream
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups of shredded monterey jack cheese
  • 12 ounces of uncooked pasta of your choice

Method

  1. Boil pasta according to directions on the package.
  2. While pasta is cooking, melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add flour, sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until combined and continue mixing for 1-2 minutes to cook off the raw flavor of the flour.
  4. Slowly whisk in the warm milk. Continue cooking and whisking until the sauce thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  5. Remove from heat. Stir in the sour cream and shredded cheeses until fully melted and smooth.
  6. Add the cooked pasta and toss to combine. Serve immediately.
