Thick Homemade Ranch Dressing (No Sour Cream)

This thick ranch dressing recipe uses heavy whipping cream and buttermilk to get that signature steakhouse texture without any sour cream. It is ready in about 10 minutes and works as both a pourable dressing and a sturdy dip.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon of sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon of black pepper
  • ¼ cup of buttermilk
  • ¼ cup of heavy whipping cream

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, add the mayonnaise, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Whisk to combine.
  2. Slowly pour in the buttermilk and heavy whipping cream while whisking. Continue whisking until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
  3. If you prefer a thinner dressing, add an extra splash of buttermilk before serving.
  4. Store in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Notes

If you prefer a thinner pour for salads, simply whisk in an extra splash of buttermilk until it reaches your desired texture.
